Alice.

During lockdown I read Alice in wonderland. I knew the story, as we all do but I’d never read it fully. It soon became apparent it’s me in a book.

My mother wanted to call me Alice but settled on Clair as a compromise.
Initially I found it difficult to name my work. Partly because I paint so much!

Alice in the Apple orchard is the first Alice piece I painted, my parents orchard being the inspiration. When I’m around flowers and painting them it feels like a wonderland.
